Charles Samuel 'Buck' Gillenwater, 85, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 2:16 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on Wednesday, August 17, 1932, in Ft. Blackmore, VA. He married Mary Frances (Sanders) Gillenwater on Monday, December 22, 1952 in Gate City, VA. Charles "Buck" attended school at the Strong School in Ft. Blackmore, VA. He served in the National Guard in Gate City, VA. He retired in 1989 from C.P.C. General Motors in Marion, In. He was a Hi-Lift driver in the shipping department. After retirement you would often see he and his wife, Frances, helping out at Coffel's Family Market, the local grocery store owned by his daughter Deb and son in law Mitch. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Montpelier. He was a member of the local U.A.W. #977 and the Fisher Body Sympathy Club. Buck enjoyed hunting, fishing, and above all spending time with his family.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2017 with the Les Bantz officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
