Grace M. Baxter, 94, of Hartford City, IN, (Jackson Twp.) passed away at 5:42 AM on Saturday, December 02, 2017 at Millers Merry Manor-H.C. in Hartford City, IN.  She was born on Tuesday, August 07, 1923, in Pique, OH.  She married Marion L.  Baxter on Saturday, June 22, 1946 in Winchester, IN.  Grace was a 1942 graduate of Spartanburg High School in Randolph County. She was a member of the Farmland United Methodist Church. She was a veterinary Tech. in Randolph Co. Grace was a member of the Randolph Co. Homemakers, Womens Society at the Farmland Methodist Church, Rural Couples in Randolph Co., Farmland Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Bethel United Methodist Ladies Aid. She had been a Randolph Co. 4-H leader for many years. Grace enjoyed jig saw puzzles, word search books, and above all spending time with her family.

 

Loving Survivors Include her  Son - Rex (Cindy) Baxter, Hartford City, IN, Grandchildren - Maria (Tony) Robbins, Albany, IN,  Marci (Mike) Pittenger, Muncie, IN, Marisa (Chad) Barnes, Hartford City, IN,  Maudlyn (Devon) Messersmith, Hartford City, IN, Great Grandchildren - Baxter (Liz) Holdcroft,  Baylea Holdcroft (Rhett Thompson),  Breea Holdcroft, Emily Pittenger, Levi Holdcroft (Savannah Harrison),  Derrek (Ashlyn) Barnes,  Zac Barnes (Katie Kaufman), Caleb Messersmith,  Gretchen  Messersmith (Nathan Brown), Dylan Messersmith,  Erica Robbins,  Dylan Robbins, and

Great Great Grandchildren - Maddie Hull,  McKaylee Hull,  Zayne Lisby, Carson Welter, Avery Robbins, & Arlee Thompson.

 

 

She was preceded in death by her Father - James B. Coddington, Mother - Bessie (Walburn) Coddington, Husband - Marion L. Baxter, Daughter - Gretchen Baxter, Brother - Ralph A. Coddington, and Sister - Floy A. Coddington.

 

There will be  a private family memorial service held at the Farmland United Methodist Church.
