Thelma J. Garringer, 84, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 8:40 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton, IN. She was born on Wednesday, September 20, 1933, in Nebraska. Thelma was a loving mother who went to work at the casket factory in Geneva, IN. after her children had gotten old enough to take care of themselves. She had also worked at Case & Quart carry out in Geneva. She was a member of the VFW and a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary where she had also been district manager for several years. Thelma enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing bingo, and traveling. She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Portland, IN.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Warren Thomas Cox, Mother - Martha Marie (Gerber) Cox, 1st Husband - Harlan Beavers, 2nd Husband - Jerry T. Garringer, Son - Dennis Beavers, Brothers - Robert Cox, Ivan Cox, & Thomas Cox Sisters - Delores Rock, & Joyce Shearer, and 2 Grandsons- James Bisel, and Matthew Beavers.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
A service to celebrate her life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 with Pastor Larry Eads officiating. Interment will follow in the Daugherty Cemetery in Jay Co..
