He was born Wednesday, August 25, 1943 in Huntington county, IN and was the son of the late John W. Dearing and Avis (Beck) Dearing. His mother survives in Landess.

Mr. Dearing had retired from General Tire - Gencorp in Marion in 2002 after 40 years of service. He was a former member of the United Rubber Workers Union and then with the United Steel Workers Union. He had also been a member of the Amvets in Marion and the Sons of the American Legion at Van Buren. He had attended high school in Van Buren..

(husband, Jeff) Cansler of Fairmount, IN, Sister, Linda Lee (husband, Robert) Smith of Converse, IN, Granddaughter, Ashley Ann Armstrong of Marion, IN, Granddaughter, Amber Renea (Dearing) Kennedy of Landess, IN, Grandson, Travis Andrew Dearing of Marion, IN, Grandson, Randall Eugene Dearing II of Fort Wayne, IN, Grandson, Austin Dee Cansler of Fairmount, IN, Granddaughter, Austina Danielle Cansler of Fairmount, IN, Granddaughter, Abigail Denise Cansler of Fairmount, IN, Grandson, Haden Leon Lawson of Kokomo, IN, and 6-Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father John W. Dearing.

Friends will be received 2-8pm, Thursday, August 23 and 10-11am on Friday, August 24th at the Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, Van Buren, Indiana.

Services will be held at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Herring officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN 46952.
