Gene A. Hix, 79 years old of Marion, IN. died Tuesday evening August 21, in Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN. with his family around him. He was born Monday, November 7, 1932 in Grant County and was the son of the late Paul and Geraldine (Zoda) Hix.

 

Gene married Jondajane (Ford) Hix January 3, 1959 in Hanfield, IN.

Gene was a Dairy farmer all of his life and he had lived all of his life in the house where he was born. Gene was a member of the Van Buren United Methodist Church, Van Buren, IN. Gene loved to do crafts and spend time with his family, but most of all, he loved to ride that lawn mower.

 

Surviving are his wife, Jondajane (Ford) Hix, Sons, Randy Hix (His friend Al Vachereau) of Coral Springs, Florida, Ricky( April Stepp) Hix of Marion, Daughter, Candy (Brian) McVay of Marion, Grandchildren,Bryana (Luke) Turner of Marion,IN.Jenni (Matt) Brown of Marion.IN, Tabitha McVay and Kyle Hix of Marion, IN.,7 Great Grandchildren. Brother, Robert (Becky) Hix and Sisters, Margaret Brown and Jeanette Douglas all of Marion, IN. Also several Nieces and Nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother.

 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday 24th of August at the Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, Van Buren, IN.

 

Services will be held at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, Saturday August 25, at 2:00pm with the Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, IN.
