Lester Thurl Mann was born on October 1, 1928, along with his twin brother, in Montpelier, IN to Harry and Vera Mann. He was a twin, born of a twin, and later had twin sons. He took the final step across the threshold from this life to the next on January 9, 2013 at 12:45 a.m. in Anaheim Hills, CA. He was 84 years old at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melissa Ferne (Bennett) Mann who passed away on February 13, 1976. Rev. Mann was a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene for 58 years prior to retiring for the second time in 2008. 14 of those years were spent in evangelism with his wife, Mary Kay, during which time they traveled the country preaching and singing, and recorded three musical albums.
Rev. Mann was a dynamic, warm, giving man of God. He was one of the best joke tellers you could ever meet. He was an amazing father and grandfather, a devoted husband, a wonderful pastor, and a truly great man. He loved to laugh and he dearly loved ‘his people’ wherever he pastored. He was very much loved and he will be terribly missed.
