The Glancy Funeral Home was founded in 1912 by H.T. Walker in a store front building on Main Street and later moved to a residence on Huntington street where it was operated until 1951. At that time Walker and two of his sons, Garl & Bill relocated the business to the present site. Later, Garl Walker purchased a funeral home in Winchester, Indiana and Bill Walker continued to operate the funeral home in Montpelier until his death in 1986. In 1969 Jeff Glancy became affiliated with the Walker Funeral Home and became owner in 1987. At that time the name was changed to the Glancy Funeral Home - Walker Chapel. Glancy, a graduate of Blackford High School and the Indiana college of Mortuary Science is a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and is president of Brookside memorial Park. Glancy and his wife Trudie have one daughter, Shannon.
