The Wells Brothers started a funeral business in Geneva at the turn of the century. The business was later purchased by Cedric Hardy who operated it along with his wife as Hardy & Hardy Funeral Home until George & Ruth Downing, natives of Indianapolis, purchased the business and operated it as the Downing Funeral Home for 30 years.
The Downings made many improvements over the years and merged with the Glancy's in 2002. At that time the name was changed to Downing & Glancy Funeral Home.
