Anthony "Tony" R.  Townsend, 67, of rural Hartford City, IN, passed away at 5:05 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024 at his home in Hartford City, IN.  He was born on Friday, February 8, 1957, in Hartford City, IN.  Tony married Kathy (Eltzroth) Townsend on Tuesday, August 22, 2000 in Hartford City, IN.  Tony was a 1976 graduate of Blackford High School where he played on the football team and was the Bruin mascot at the basketball games. He worked for Warner Gear, Muncie, IN. for several years. Tony enjoyed tinkering in his garage, hunting, playing video games, and loved his dog, Thor.

Tony will be forever missed by his Wife - Kathy (Eltzroth) Townsend, Hartford City, IN, Son - Ryan (Mariah) Townsend, Harlan, IN, Daughters - Casey (Derek) Lightle, Hartford City, IN, Jessica (Drew Jones) Townsend, Hartford City, IN, Stepdaughters - Brenda Clark, Hartford City, IN, Kelley (Joseph) Seibert, Anderson, IN, 14 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and Brother - Ed Townsend, Fort Wayne, IN.

He was preceded in death by his Father - Ray Townsend, Mother - Rachel (Reading) Townsend, Half Brothers – Jack and Bob Turner, and Half Sister - Shirley Turner.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
