Areta K. Warner, 78, a lifetime resident of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 6:30 AM on October 11, 2023, at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie. Areta was born on February 23, 1945, to the late Herbert & Mable (Ramseyer) King. She was a 1963 graduate of Montpelier High School. Areta formerly worked at Blackford County Hospital in the admitting office years ago and recently was working at IU Health Blackford Hospital part-time. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and games.

Loving survivors include her sons, Mike A. Warner of Hartford City, IN, Eric A. (Jillian) Warner of Muncie, IN, granddaughters, Mandy Davidson of Noblesville, IN, Dusty Thornburgh of Hartford City, IN, Sophia Warner, of Muncie, IN, Fiona Warner of Muncie, IN, great grandchildren, Todd Thornburgh, Nick Thornburgh, Kenzi Davidson, Tessa Thornburgh, sisters, Stella Earhart and Treva King, brother, Harvey (Deanie) King.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Todd Warner, sister, Udella McFarren and brothers, Marion King, Carl King, and Herman King.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for visiting hours.  The burial will take place in Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Blackford County Animal Shelter, 2520 N. 200 E. Hartford City, IN 47348 and/or ARF Animal Rescue Fund, 1209 W. Riggin Rd. Muncie, IN 47303.
