Barbara Sue
Kitterman
Mar 25, 1938 — Jan 15, 2026
Barbara Sue Jordan Moriarity Kitterman, age 87, spent her final days surrounded by her family, as they shared memories, love, and comfort with her, before passing away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at The Crossings in Noblesville. Barbara was born to the late Harry L. and Esta E. (Trester) Jordan in Montpelier on March 25, 1938.
Barbara lived a life defined by love, laughter, and generosity. She was incredibly funny, with a quick wit and a warm sense of humor that could brighten any room. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a special way of making people feel deeply valued and truly part of the family.
Kind and generous to her core, Barbara gave freely of her time, care, and love. Family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent together. She loved the simple joys of life—watching her favorite TV shows, crafting, and spending time with her pets. Her dogs were truly her life, and she spoiled them rotten, showering them with the same unconditional love she gave to everyone around her. Barbara enjoyed college basketball, crocheting, crafting and twirling her baton.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Kitterman; her daughter, Niki Moriarity; her grandson, Caleb Moriarity and siblings, Harry "Junior" Jordan and Julia Bennett.
She is survived by her sons, Lester Allen "Freddy" Moriarity and Ricky Moriarity, both of Montpelier; her grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Keenan, Bobby Speece, Wesley Speece, Courtney Moriarity, Casey (Hannah) Moriarity, Cody (Massinda) Moriarity, and Cassiday Moriarity; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy lives on in the laughter she shared, the kindness she showed, and the love she gave so selflessly. Her family takes comfort in knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by love—just as she lived her life.
