Barbara LeeAnn Schomber, age 55, of Keystone, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Thursday, August 27, 1970, in Hartford City, IN.  She married Kenneth Wayne Schomber on Friday, January 27, 1995 in Lansing, Michigan.  Barb was a 1989 graduate of Blackford High School. She attended Ball State where she studied Special Education. Barb was a former member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. She had worked for the Posey Room and Speedway in Montpelier. Barb was an active member of the community. She could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She loved her family and loved spending time with them.

She will be forever missed by her husband - Kenneth Wayne Schomber, Keystone, IN, sons - Brandon W.F. (Elise) Schomber, Montpelier, IN, Bennett Jaymes Schomber, Keystone, IN, Blayden Victor Schomber, Keystone, IN, grandchild - Isabella Morgan, sisters - Bernadette (Gary) Elkins, Eaton, IN, Brandi Reynolds, Marion, IN, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father - Charles Leroy "Charley" Bales, mother - Beneranda "Bennie" (Schlotter) Bales, and son - Bryceon Schomber.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Barb's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026 with Dustin Schlotter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Preferred memorials can be made to the Funeral Home to help the family during these difficult times.
