Billy Gene Martin, 78, of Warren, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Heritage Pointe in Warren on October 28. He was born on February 28, 1947, in Bristol, Virginia, to the late Charles Claude and Mary Louise (Carr). Billy married the love of his life, Pamela Slater, on December 13, 1969, in New Castle, Indiana.

Billy was a 1966 graduate of New Castle High School. He worked at Corning Glass for 12 years and later retired from Bendix after 32 years of dedicated service. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970, and he took tremendous pride in being a Navy veteran. His years of service were among his proudest accomplishments, and he often shared stories of the friendships, discipline, and patriotism that shaped his life. He was also a faithful member of Warren Church of Christ, where his faith and kindness touched many lives.

Loving survivors include his wife, Pam Martin of Warren, IN; children, Tricia (Jeff) Jones of Columbus, IN; Kelly (Mike) Cady of Bluffton, IN; and Ryan (Patty) Martin of Richfield, OH; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Kirk of New Castle, IN; and brother, Jonathan Brewer of Anchorage, AK.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Applegate Chapel – Heritage Pointe, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with Pastors Gerald Moreland and Mickey Strong officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy and local veterans.
