Dianna Sue Morningstar, 74 of Berne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Swiss Village in Berne, surrounded by her family.

Dianna was born on January 28, 1951, to Joyce V. and Rose Ann (Steinbrunner) Smitley. She was a graduate of South Adams High School. She attended the Bridge Church. Dianna had worked at Berco in Berne, IN. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Dianna was always the life of the party. Her smile was flawless. In her younger years she loved to shoot pool, play tennis, and card games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching professional tennis and watching the Bulls and Pacers play. After retirement, she babysat for her grandchildren and several families in Geneva.

Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, uncles, and close friends including Linda, Rita, Nancy and Rosemary.

Loving survivors include her sons, Gregory Morningstar of Berne, IN and Shawn Morningstar of Union City, MI, grandchildren, Shanda (Brad) Fisher of Berne, IN, Mitchell Morningstar of New Mexico, Mavrick Morningstar, of Geneva, IN, Mason Morningstar of Union City, MI, Dillon Morningstar of Berne, IN, and Madalynn Morningstar of Chicago, IL, great grandchildren, Makaiah and Maddix Fisher, nephew, Chad (Amy) Smitley, niece, Faith (Luke) Ellenberger, 3 great nieces, 3 great nephews, and siblings, Stanley (Cathy) Smitley of Monroe, IN, Katrina Smitley of Clearwater, FL, and Tammy Smitley-Hummel of Berne, IN.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N Washington St. Geneva, IN 46740 on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11am with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Eric Lehman will be officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery.
