Obituary

Eleanor Elizabeth Pribble, 97, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Eleanor was born on February 22, 1925, to the late Christian Waag and Renata (Gaiser) Waag in Cleveland, Ohio. As a child, she spent many summers with her grandparents at their parsonage near Preble, Indiana. She graduated from high school at Fairview Park, Ohio. She then spent a few years at home while her younger brother, Christian, completed college. It was during this time that she honed her sewing talents. Eleanor continued her education at Indiana University to receive her bachelor's degree from the school of Nursing in 1956. She married Robert Howard Pribble on May 27, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, after a whirlwind five-year courtship. Elinore worked as the head nurse at Riley Children's Hospital in both isolation and the outpatient clinic. Then, she stayed at home while she raised her family. Eleanor enjoyed crafts, especially watercolor painting and working with clay. She also loved dogs, enjoyed baking, master gardening, and would volunteer whenever and wherever she felt needed.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Renata Waag, and brother, Christian Waag Jr.
