Elmer E. Hicks, 84 of Marion, Indiana, passed away at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Elmer was born on July 4, 1940, in Elk Park, North Carolina to Noah and Matilda Hicks. He married Janet (Van Ness) Hicks on November 21, 1959, at the Nazarene Church in Van Buren, Indiana. The two have spent 65 years united in marriage, building a family and home they are proud of. Elmer worked for Dana Corp for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his buddies at Arbor Trace for almost 50 years. Elmer was a fan of the Yankees, IU, Colts and Pacers.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Micheal Hicks, and siblings, Kathleen Greene, Murphy Hicks, and Hildreth Hicks.

Loving survivors include his loving wife, Janet Hicks of Marion, IN, children, Kevin (Robin) Hicks of Matthews, IN and Daryl Hicks of Marion, IN, 7 grandchildren, Brandi (Aaron) Smith, Micheal (Melina) Hicks, Kody (Jade) Hicks, Jessica Hicks, Korey Hicks, Travis Hicks and Dustin Hicks, 19 great grandchildren, and brother, Roger Hicks of North Carolina.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home located at 201 W. Main St. Van Buren, IN 46991, from 1:30pm to 3pm. A funeral service will begin at 3pm with burial following in the Van Buren Cemetery.
