Obituary

Everett Alexander Lee, 87, of Montpelier, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on April 16, 2025, following a brief illness.

Everett was born on June 29, 1937, in Blackford County to Leroy and Cecelia Lee. He graduated from Roll High School in 1955 and later went on to work for Taylor Bros Plastering.

On April 21, 1957, he married the love of his life, Joyce Hart Lee, and together they raised four children in Montpelier. They shared a passion for gardening, square dancing, the Vintage Motor Bike Club, family, and friends. Their true joy was always their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Everett was a valued member of his community, with multiple years of service to Jaycees, Little League, serving as a parent, coach, umpire, and president. He will be remembered as the "go-to guy" for those in the community who were in need of home improvement projects, big or small.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 68 years, Joyce, and their children: sons David (Jayne) and Doug (Nancy), and daughters Beth and Debbie (Jerry). He was very proud of his 6 grandchildren: Lindsey, Nicholas, Paige, Danielle, Andrew, and Jack, all of whom graduated from five colleges across four different states.

Everett also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren: Eugene, Patience, Adora, Beck, Arlo, twins Sadie and Faye, and Jameson.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 18, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 109 W. Windsor Street, Montpelier. The funeral home will reopen at 10:00 AM on Saturday with a sit-down service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lori Skidmore and her amazing staff, the SouthernCare Hospice Group, and all of their loving and caring home healthcare professionals for their exceptional support.
