Hazel I. Spaulding, 95, of rural Montpelier, Harrison township, IN, passed away at 6:12 AM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at The Waters of Hartford City in Hartford City, IN.  She was born on Friday, May 11, 1928, in Sims, IN.  She married Gale Spaulding on Sunday, January 1, 1950, in Independence Church Hartford City, Indiana.  Hazel was a 1946 graduate of Pennville High School. She was a farmwife and a homemaker. Hazel enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, writing and solving word find puzzles. She was a member of the Independence Church of Christ in Hartford City.

Hazel will be lovingly missed by her daughter - Janice I. (Robert) Miller, Marion, IN, son - Daniel G. (Lou Ellen) Spaulding, Montpelier, IN, grandchild - Michael (Candace) Spaulding, Upland, IN, grandchild - Matthew (Tiffany) Spaulding, Hartford City, IN, grandchild - Lynnette (Mark) Johnson, Kennesaw, GA, grandchild - Alexander (Valerie) Miller, Roanoke, IN, 9 great grandchildren, brother - David (Treena) Smith, Daleville, IN, and sister-in-law - Arlene Smith, Amboy, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father - Smith, Paul, mother - Smith, Minni, husband - Gale H. Spaulding, son - Rudy Spaulding, sister - Edna Strahm, brother - Charles Smith, brother - Robert Smith, brother - James Smith, and brother - Tom Smith

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St. Montpelier at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 7, 2023 with Les Bantz officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
