He was born on Tuesday, August 24, 1948, in Geneva, IN. He was married to Lovina J. (Graber) Hilty. Jacob worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Survivors include his Wife - Lovina J. (Graber) Hilty, Monroe, IN, Daughters - Margaret L.J. (Jake) Schwartz, Kokomo, IN, Emma L.J. (Alvin) Shetler, Monroe, IN, Sons - Jacob L.J. (Katie) Hilty, Berne, IN, Jonas L.J. (Leah) Hilty, Pennville, IN, 33 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, Brother - Sam J. (Martha) Hilty, and Sister-in-law - Martha L. (Miller) Hilty, Monroe, IN.

He was preceded in death by his Father - Jacob Hilty, Sr., Mother - Emma (Troyer) Hilty, 5

Grandchildren, Brothers - Andy J. Hilty, Reuben J. Hilty, Sister - Fannie J. Hilty, Half Brothers - Menno J. Hilty, Joe J. Hilty, Alvin J. Hilty, Amos J. Hilty, and Half Sister - Katie J. Wickey.

Visitation will be held at the Hilty Residence 1108 S. 500 E. Monroe on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

A Funeral service will be at the Hilty Residence at 9:00 AM on Sunday, October 18, 2026 with Bishop Micheal Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the East Salem Amish Cemetery in Monroe.
