Obituary

Janet Maxine Yarger, 89, of Marion Indiana, passed away on November 24th, 2022 (Thanksgiving Day) at her home in Marion Indiana, surrounded by her family. It was a blessed Thanksgiving Day! She was in the presence of her Lord on one of her favorite days!

Janet was born in Marion Indiana to Patrick and Gladys (Meyers) Moriarity on June 20th, 1933. She went to grammar school in Landis Indiana. There was no cafeteria, no bathroom inside, and just 3 classrooms. She graduated from Van Buren High School. This is where she met and dated her future husband (who taught her how to drive a car). She married Paul Jay Yarger on May 23rd, 1954, at Hanfield Methodist Church, Hanfield Indiana. On their wedding they made the trip from Indiana to Fort Benning Georgia. Paul served in the Korean War and was finishing his enlistment at Fort Benning.

Janet served in any employment secondary to her God given role as a wife and mother. Her primary employment was as a bookkeeper for Eastbrook Community Schools Administration office for three years. She volunteered at Marion General Hospital, Central Christian Church of Van Buren, 4H, and the County Sheriff's Department. After her daughter finished playing, she continued to keep the scorebook for the Eastbrook High School volleyball teams for twenty years! She served her neighbors and friends. Janet had the gift of hospitality. She exercised it wonderfully in parties, celebrations, holidays, and gatherings. She loved her "sisters" in the Gamma Tau Sorority. Janet's was a life of service!

Janet is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Keith (Bud) Moriarity and sister Patricia Smith.

Janet is survived by her husband Paul, her children Paul Gregory Yarger and Debra Anderson, and her sister Nancy Riddle. Janet had five grandchildren: Olin Yarger, Karen (Jordan) Henkel, Casie (Darrel) Rutledge, Brent (Jaynie) Anderson, and Brooke (Brian) Herasymchuck. She had four great- grandchildren: Garrett Rutledge (Casie), Skyler Marshall (Karen), Remi and Josie Anderson (Brent).

Janet's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to, Dr. Helen Borgenheimer, Deb Fiechter, Palliative Care, Carol Byrum, Palliative Care and Grace Community Church.
