Obituary

Janice E. Kellam, 84 of Mt. Etna, Indiana, entered her eternal home with Jesus, on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Janice was born on June 30, 1939, to Hurshel B. and Anna A. (Butler) Hethcote. She was born in Rock Creek Twp., Huntington County and treasured her eventful childhood with 9 older siblings. Janice attended Andrews High School and married Jon Kellam on June 30, 1956, in Andrews. Janice and Jon were converted in Christianity on February 23, 1958 and started singing in a little country church together. The Lord blessed their union with a son, Rick, a daughter, Cindy, and a son, Tom.

The Kellam family started traveling across the county in 1968, spreading the Gospel-in-Song, praising, and honoring the Lord Jesus Christ. The Kellam family would go on to travel for over 50 years, singing at many churches and events all across the US. It brought Janice great joy to share her testimony with others, where she touched many lives, and encouraged people to bring Jesus into their hearts. She was very dedicated to the ministry of singing, and was determined to pass her love of the Lord and music onto her children and grandchildren. Janice loved taking care of her family, cooking big meals, gardening and mowing. Her favorite verse was Proverbs 3: 5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Hurshel and Anna Hethcote, and siblings, Hurshel Hethcote Jr., Merrill Hethcote, Max Hethcote, Merritt Hethcote, Claude Dea Hethcote, Wanda Hunnicutt, Melba Milar, Anna Belle Friend, and Arliss Jean Drabenstot.

Loving survivors include her husband, Jon Kellam of Mt. Etna, children, Rick (Carol Myers) Kellam, Cindy (Rick) Elliott and Tom (Stacy) Kellam, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember at Healing Waters Ministry, located in Mt. Etna (For GPS directions, use address 5811 W 606 S Huntington, IN 46750) on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm and again on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 11am to 12pm.
