Jean L. "Jeanie" Duffy, 78, of Geneva, Ind. passed away peacefully at Swiss Village on January 18, 2024. Jean was born in Muncie, Indiana on May 31, 1945, the only child of William and Harriet (Moore) Hethcote. Jean spent her childhood in Muncie, Indiana and pursued her education at Ball State University, where she earned a degree in nursing. Jean married Michael Duffy, her childhood sweetheart, on September 3, 1966, in Muncie, Indiana. Jean spent most of her professional career in Illinois, working as a Medicare Medical Supervisor for various hospitals and Aetna. Jean went back to school to pursue her Nursing Home Administrators license to focus on her passion of long-term care. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jeanie was known for her infectious smile, witty personality, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She loved antiquing, playing euchre with friends, a cold Coca-Cola and wildlife. Jean loved her pets, especially her Dobermans.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, William and Harriet (Moore) Hethcote and her husband, Michael Duffy.

A celebration of life will be held in July of 2024 for family and friends.
