Joe L. Hilty, age 90 of Monroe, IN. died May 5, 2025 at 12:15 A.M. at Lutheran Hospital from congestive heart failure. He was born June 14, 1934 in Berne, IN. to Crist & Lydia (Schwartz) Hilty. He married Maryann Wickey on Nov. 8, 1959. Joe was of the Old Order Amish Church.

Left to mourn in addition to his wife are 6 daughters & 5 sons- Roseann Hilty, Monroe, IN, Miriam (Willis) Schmucker, Greentop, Mo, Lisa (David E.) Wickey of Monroe, Barbara (David M. Wickey) Mandy (Elam E.) Wickey, Lucy (Noah) Wengerd all of Monroe. Walter (Clara Eicher) Hilty, Victor (Susan Schwartz) Hilty, both of Monroe, IN,  Enos (Ella Mast) Hilty of Hamilton, Mo, Jonathan (Ruth Kueplifer ) Hilty of Salem, IN, Marvin (Lucy Schwartz) Hilty of Monroe, IN, 97 grandchildren  203 great grandchildren, brothers- Samuel and Marvin Hilty of Berne, IN. and sisters Lydiann Yoder, IN,  Anna Mae Lengacher, Harlan, IN, Laura Miller and Carol Troyer both of Berne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alvin, Edward, Roman, sister Marie Shetler, granddaughter Elsie Hilty, 4 great grandchildren, Elsie Wickey, Arlene Schwartz, Ervin Schwartz, and Mervin Hilty.

Visitation will be held at the Hilty residence located at 5411 E. 300 S. Monroe, IN. on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Hilty residence on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 8:30 AM with Bishop Menno Christner officiating. Burial will follow at East Salem Amish Cemetery, Monroe, IN.
