Joseph N. Schwartz, 85, of rural Geneva, IN, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at his home in Geneva, IN.  He was born on Sunday, October 27, 1940, in Adams County to the late Menno D. and Anna (Hilty) Schwartz.  He married Leah J. (Graber) Schwartz on Thursday, May 3, 1962; she preceded him in death in 2016.  Joseph was of the Old Order Amish Church. He was a construction worker until the age of 80.

Survivors include his three sons - Jonas J.L. (Barbara) Schwartz, Geneva, IN, Menno J.L. (Leah) Schwartz, Berne, IN, Joe J.L. (Emma) Schwartz, Geneva, IN, six daughters - Maggie (Tim) Shetler, Berne, IN, Anna (Jake) Shetler, Geneva, IN, Leah (John) Shetler, Geneva, IN, Lydia (Vernon) Schwartz, Berne, IN, Susie (Val) Shetler Jr., Geneva, IN, Mary (William) Schwartz, Decatur, IN, 93 grandchildren, 191 great grandchildren, brothers - Dan (Leah) Schwartz, Berne, IN, Sam (Lydiann) Schwartz, Geneva, IN, Mahlon (Susie) Schwartz, Seymour, MO, sisters - Suzy  Schwartz, Seymour, MO, Barbara (Andrew) Eicher, Bonaparte, IA, and Katie Eckrote, Effingham, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife - Leah J. (Graber) Schwartz, father - Menno D. Schwartz, mother - Anna (Hilty) Schwartz, 5 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, & brothers-in-law - Emauel Y. Schwartz, and Ed Eckrote.

Visitation will be held at the Schwartz residence located at 2025 E. 1000 S. Geneva on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Schwartz residence at 9:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 with Bishop Jonas H. Graber officiating. Interment will follow in the Bunker Hill Amish Cemetery in Geneva.
