Larry Gene Hartman, age 71, of Poneto, IN, passed away at 9:22 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Thursday, September 9, 1954, in Hartford City, IN.  He married Sheryl L. (Wafford) Hartman on Saturday, November 14, 1981 in Bluffton, IN; she proceeded him in death on April 4, 2023.  Larry was a 1972 graduate of Southern Wells High School. He worked for the Wastewater Dept. in Bluffton for 37 years. Larry was a member of the Wells Co. Coon Hunters. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, spending time with his granddaughter, Kinsey, and watching the Miami Dolphins football & Purdue.

He will be forever missed by his Son - Jeremiah G. Hartman, Poneto, IN, Former Daughter-in-law - Amber Hartman, Bluffton, IN, Granddaughter - Kinsey Hartman, Bluffton, IN, Brothers - David D. (Kathy) Hartman, Camby, IN, Aaron Hartman, Warren, IN, and Sister - Debra Bowen, Van Buren, IN.

He was preceded in death by his Wife - Sheryl L. (Wafford) Hartman, Father - Marvin E. Hartman, and Mother - Nina Marie (Coleman) Hartman.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to service on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

A service to celebrate his life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 with Barry Crosbie officiating. Interment will follow in the Stahl Cemetery in Bluffton.
