Linda Lou McLain, age 84, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 9:40 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Envive Healthcare of Hartford City. She was born on Saturday, September 13, 1941, in Montpelier, IN.  Linda attended Montpelier High School. She formerly attended the Nazarene and Baptist Church's in Montpelier. Linda had worked at several places including the Montpelier Root Beer stand in her early years, Sheller Globe, Well's Paradise Point Restaurant at State Rd. 3 & 18, and Kroger in both Bluffton and Angola. She lived in Florida for 5 years and in Angola for 5 years. She was a member of the Millard Brown American Legion Post 156 Auxiliary. Linda enjoyed playing bingo and going to garage sales.

She will be forever missed by her sons, Dale Purvis, Montpelier, IN, and Jeff (Debra) Purvis, Spencer, WI, daughter, Terri (Rick) Clifford, Bluffton, IN, brother, Edward Coleman, Jr., Gas City, IN, Sister, Iris Coleman, FL, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Sarah Viola (Evers) Coleman, 1st husband - Duane Purvis, 2nd husband - Gordon McLain, and siblings, Doris Schache, Evelyn Kinser, Lola Moorman, Albert Coleman, Gene Coleman, Meredith Coleman, and Priscilla Sills.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  A service to celebrate Linda's life will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Steve Rogers officiating. Inurnment will take place in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Montpelier.
