Mary Jane Landis, 94, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 9:53 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at her home with her family by her side in Montpelier, IN.  She was born on Monday, June 3, 1929, in Wells County, IN.  She married Jean Richard Landis on Saturday, October 16, 1948 in Montpelier, IN. Mary Jane was a 1947 graduate of Montpelier High School, then went on to beauty school in Fort Wayne. She worked as a beautician, Athletic Secretary, and for Feltt Insurance. She attended the Hartford City Wesleyan Church. Mary Jane taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, helped with funeral dinners, and was also involved with Nomads. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, camping, boating, and reading.

She will sadly be missed by her Husband of 75 years - Jean Richard Landis, Montpelier, IN, Daughters - Barbara Ann (Husband Richard) Thurman, Hartford City, IN, Janet Sue Johnson, Travelers Rest, SC, Grandchildren - James (Jill) Thurman, Hartford City, IN, Jane Ann (Chad) Stroble, Dunkirk, IN, Joy (Stephen) Leavell, Holly Springs, GA, Emily (Ross) Crawford, Muncie, IN, Lee Johnson, Piedmont, SC, Lew (Brandi) Johnson, Nairobi, Kenya, Clay Johnson, Greer, SC, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Step Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Robert Grove, Mother - Rose Opal (McGeath) Grove, Brothers - Mervin W. Rhea, Donald C. Grove, Son in Law - Tex Johnson, and Granddaughter in Law- Amy (Aulbach) Thurman.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and then again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Mary Jane's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 with Pastor Joshua Fox officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
