Mary Quakenbush, 72, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her home in Montpelier.  She was born on Wednesday, July 26, 1950, in Wooton, KY, to the late Charly & Sadie (Combs) Eldridge. Mary attended grade school in Liberty Center and attended Southern Wells High School. She married Robert E.  Quakenbush on Saturday, May 21, 1983, in Bluffton, IN; he passed away on December 25, 2017.  Mary formerly worked at Dottie's Place in Ossian, Dutch Mill Restaurant in Bluffton, High Street Bar and Frosty's both of Montpelier. Mary enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Millard Brown American Legion Post #156 Auxiliary.

Survivors include sons, Charles "Joe" Bailey, Montpelier, IN, Shane B. Bailey, Bluffton, IN, John R. Bailey, Jr., of Ohio, daughter, Rose E. Quakenbush, Montpelier, IN, grandson, Zachary Scott (Wife, Lori) Quakenbush, Bluffton, IN, 3 great grandchildren, siblings, Hizzie Eldridge, Monteagle, TN, Charles Eldridge, Jr., Berne, IN & Evelyn Eldridge, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, husband and brother, Michael Dennis Eldridge.

To honor Mary's wishes there will be no services held.
