Michael Van Boyer, 75, of Van Buren, IN, passed away at 8:10 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion, IN., after an extended illness. He was born on Tuesday, March 25, 1947, in Tipton, IN to the late Frances & Alice Boyer. Mike proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, where he completed two active-duty tours. Mike married his wife, Nancy on Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Central Christian Church, Van Buren. He formerly worked at a small factory in Van Buren until it closed and then retired from Ball Foster after 10 years of service. He was a member of the Van Buren American Legion Post #368, where he served as Past Commander and on the honor guard. He was a volunteer cook there for over 20 years. Mike loved spending time at the Legion, drinking Bud Light, shooting the breeze with the guys, and attending meetings. He enjoyed yard work, riding his John Deere lawn mower, dancing, grilling out, spending time with great friends and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Loving survivors include his wife of 22 years, Nancy (St. John) Boyer, Van Buren, IN., daughter Denise (Bob Shuler) Arbuckle, Van Buren, IN., son Aaron Boyer, New Castle, IN., grandchildren Britney (Joey) West, Ft. Wayne, IN., Carlie (Fiancé, Tyler Gillett) Moser, Camby, IN., Andrew Shuler, Ft. Wayne, IN., Lauren Shuler, Ft. Wayne, IN., 6 great grandchildren who he loved dearly, sister Carol Macintosh, Anderson, IN., brother Kevin (Lori) Boyer, Van Buren, IN., sisters-in-law - Betty (Henry) St. John, Tallahassee, FL., Joann (Jim) Lobdell, Van Buren, IN., Shirley (Bob) Fincannon, Van Buren, IN., brothers-in-law - Bill Ruble, OH., Tommy (Deanna) St. John, Van Buren, IN., Ron (Christine) St. John, Orlando, FL., & several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at the Central Christian Church, 201 S. 1st, Van Buren, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. A service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at the church on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 11:30 AM; viewing will take place one hour before the service. Pastor Tony Miner will officiate, and burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Marion National Cemetery. Full military honors will take place at the cemetery.
