Nixon David Kelsay, 75, a lifetime resident of Montpelier, IN, (Harrison Township) passed away at 1:20 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Home in Montpelier, IN. He was born on Thursday, April 17, 1947, in Bluffton, IN. David was a 1965 graduate of Montpelier High School. He was a college graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Economics. David lived and farmed northeast of Montpelier on the Blackford-Wells County line his entire life. At age 12 he purchased his first tractor. David had a great love for livestock production. He had a positive influence on young people, always encouraging a need for continued education. In Davids words, students need to "get off the farm and get the dust blowed off, and higher education will do that." David was a member of the Baptist Church in Montpelier.

David will be sadly missed by his sisters, Mary Margaret Kelsay, Montpelier, IN, Ellen (Allan) Louise Lemaux, Charlotte, NC, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 great nieces, and 3 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nixon Winslow Kelsay, mother, Margaret Louise Kelsay and sister, Cynthia Sue Lampman.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St., Montpelier, on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor's Cecil Fike & Les Bantz. Interment will be at the IOOF cemetery, Montpelier, IN.
