Opal M. Williamson, 89 of Bryant, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Jay County Hospital in Portland, Indiana.

Opal was born on November 2, 1935, to Floyd and Mable (Beetle) Smith in Muncie, IN. She married Buford "Mike" Williamson on August 26, 1960. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2005. Opal loved spending time with her family and caring for them. She was always extremely good with her children and always put them first. She was a wonderful caregiver and took great care of anyone who was ill or needed her help. A meticulous and proud woman, she always kept her cars clean and tidy. Opal truly loved everyone.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mickie Lynn Williamson, son-in-law Johnny Bates, grandson, Wyatt Bates, and great great granddaughter Raylee Weiland.

Loving survivors include her children, Vernon (Brenda) Harrison Jr. of Dunkirk, IN, Shawn (Jody) Williamson of Bryant, IN, and Mary Bates of Salamonia, IN, grandchildren, Johnnie Marie (Rob) Bates, Richard Bates, Shane (Sue) Harrison, Jennifer (Mike) Sargent, Michael (Lexie) Williamson, and AJ (Lily) Williamson, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, siblings, Mable New, Florence Lee, Clara Kelly, Flora Whiteside, Annie Sicks, and Bob Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

In honor of Opal's wishes, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier, Indiana.
