Pastor Richard Eugene Evans, age 84, of Decatur, IN, passed away at 11:56 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, February 3, 1942, in Vicksburg, MI. Richard attended Vicksburg High School in Vicksburg Michigan. He had worked for Dana Corporation and the State Highway. Richard was a certified minister and had founded several churches. He was a member of Healing Ministries Church in Markle, IN. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, and loved watching baseball and any MI athletics.

He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Lawrence (Jennifer) Evans, Corunna, IN, and Doug Evans, Garrett, IN, daughter, Tawnya Evans, Ft. Wayne, IN, grandchildren, Whitney Evans, Lake Evans, Brooke Evans, Sage Vandezande, Gabriel Evans, great grandchildren, Ian Vandezande and Rudy Vandezande, sister, Sandy Emmons, Vicksburg, MI, and caregivers, Jonathan & Myla Gase.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan C. Evans, mother, Louise (Cook) Evans, brothers, Ivan, Bill, Steve, and Jack Evans, and sister, Loretta Bowlby.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Inurnment will take place in the Schoolcraft Township Cemetery in Vicksburg, MI.
