Patty Ann Dickey, 89, of rural Hartford City (Roll, Washington Twp., Blackford County) passed away at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her home. Patty was born on Monday, July 1, 1935, in Hartford City, IN.  She was a graduate of Roll High School. Patty married James W. Dickey on Sunday, December 6, 1953 at the Roll Methodist Church.

Patty and Jim met in the 3rd grade while attending school in Roll. They started dating in high school. After graduation Patty worked 3 days at Resnick's Clothing Store in Marion before marrying Jim. She was a devoted wife to Jim for over 70 years and helped raise 4 sons. She lived in the same house in Roll for most of her life. She loved her family and celebrated many family gatherings at her home. She was the best cook. Patty loved music and singing. She had a beautiful voice. She was an animal lover, especially dogs, cats, and horses.

Patty was baptized into Christ on October 11, 2015, and was a member of Towne Acres Church of Christ, Muncie, IN.

Patty will be forever missed by her devoted husband – Mr. James W. Dickey, Hartford City, IN, sons - Mr. Greg (Wife, Colleen) Dickey, Hartford City, IN, Mr. David (Wife, Michelle) Dickey, Montpelier, IN, Mr. Dennis (Wife, Paula) Dickey, Glencoe, AL, brother - Mr. Charles May, Marion, IN, grandchildren- Jason Dickey, Jon Dickey, Scott Dickey, Courtney Dickey, Austin Dickey, Tanner Dickey, Mariah Stults, Lauren Dickey, great grandchildren -  John Pierce Funk, Sam Funk, Addy Funk, Shyann Murphy, (husband, Noah), Madison Kemp, Lincoln Kemp, Linlee Dickey, great great grandchildren- Sawyer Murphy, Charlotte Murphy, and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father - Mr. Ralph E. May, mother - Edna O. (Schmidt) May, sister - Betty Lou May, and son- Gary Dickey.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. 47359 on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. and also one hour prior to service on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

A service to celebrate Patty's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Reynolds officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hartford City IOOF Cemetery in Hartford City.
