Peggy Carlson
Hall
Jul 8, 1950 — May 6, 2026
Peggy Carlson Hall, 75, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband by her side.
Peggy was born on July 8, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dr. Ralph Carlson and Harriett (Johnson) Carlson. She later made Indianapolis her home, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, service, and compassion for others.
A 1968 graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana, later proudly continued her education at DePauw University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1972. Peggy dedicated much of her life to helping others through her work in child and social services, spending many years serving countless children and families in need. She also formerly worked in her first husband's family's jewelry business where she was a certified jeweler, before continuing her career as a realtor for more than 35 years with FC Tucker and Century 21 Realty Group.
On October 15, 1983, Peggy married Gary Hall in the comfort of their home, beginning a loving partnership filled with shared adventures and countless memories. Together the two enjoyed each other's daily company and created a life worth living.
Peggy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener and became a Master Gardener, taking pride in the beauty she created outdoors. She enjoyed running with her husband, Gary, creating many treasured memories together through their shared love of keeping active. Peggy was passionate about helping underprivileged children through her involvement with the Assistance League of Indianapolis. She volunteered her time to listen, motivate, and instill life values, all while hoping to strengthen her community and make a difference in our youth. She was also a devoted member of several book clubs, and loved gathering with friends to play Mahjong. Peggy cherished her friendships with her close-knit group of "literature ladies" and had a special love for animals, especially cats and birds.
Peggy faced her health challenges with grace and determination, always choosing a path of cheerful optimism and hope. She focused her abundant energies on serving her community and supporting friends and family. She will be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, beautiful vibrant spirit, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 43 years Gary, brother David Carlson (Jami) of Evansville, sister Susan Fouts (John) of Fort Wayne, brother Kenneth Carlson (Nancy) of Carmel and nieces and nephews Austin, Alex, Andy, Greg, Katie, Chrisse, Elizabeth, Margaret, Kevin and Laura, and great nieces and nephews Drew, Chloe, Adam, Ben, Anna, Charlotte, Elianna, Katerina, Evan, Lily and Noah and her beloved cats, Pippin and Gatsby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Patricia Brumbaugh, nephew John Brumbaugh and niece Allison Tenbarge.
