Richard Allen Beymer, age 75, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 3:20 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Twin City Healthcare in Gas City, IN. He was born on Friday, September 29, 1950, in Hartford City, IN. to the late Charles L. and Beulah (Randolph) Beymer. Richard was a 1968 graduate of Montpelier High School. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree in education from Indiana University. Richard was a member of the First UM Church in Montpelier. He taught English for 20 years at Blackford High School and for 10 years in Niles MI. Richard resided in South Bend for 20 years before moving back to Blackford Co. in 2022. He was a member of the National Education Association, Indiana State Teacher Association, Shakespeare Society in Chicago, and was a 50-year member of the Montpelier Masonic Lodge #600 F & AM. Richard enjoyed spending the summers at his lake home at Shoe Lake in North Webster, traveling overseas, and attending live plays and theatrical productions.

He will be forever missed by his sister, Julia (Jim) Lee, Montpelier, IN, and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Beulah (Randolph) Beymer, brothers, Floyd D. Beymer, and Lawrence Beymer.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Masonic service will follow at 7:00 PM.

Inurnment will be in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
