Richard Michael Crabtree, 77 of Washington Township, Blackford County, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Richard was born on April 7, 1947, in Muncie, Indiana to John Crabtree and Alice Lavern (Fair) Brummett. He graduated from Azusa High School in Azusa, California and married Linda (Clark) Crabtree on June 2, 1990, at Independence Church of Christ in Hartford City, Indiana. Richard served our country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He retired from Peyton's in Bluffton in 2013 and had formerly worked at Overhead Door in Hartford City and Sullivan's Excavating and Omni Excavating in Marion. Richard loved watching car auctions on TV, loved corvettes, and enjoyed the Auto & RV Magazines. While he was able, he enjoyed working outside. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 159 of Hartford City.

Richard was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, John and Irene Crabtree, his mother, Alice Brummett, his siblings, Carolyn Jo Cooper, and Dennis Perry, brother-in-law Everett Clark, sister-in-law, Gloria Clark, and his fur babies, Bambi, April, Summers, Lassie and step fur baby Benji.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda Crabtree of Hartford City, IN, step-sisters, Wanda (Steve) George and Jackie Randolph, sister-in-law Nancy (Robert) Hedden of Forney, TX, and fur baby, Buttercup.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W Windsor St. Montpelier, Indiana 47359, from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Les Bantz officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Montpelier, Indiana.
