Richard Edward Frieszell Sr., 84, of Marion, IN, passed away at 3:53 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Marion Health in Marion, IN. He was born on Wednesday, July 22, 1942, in Dayton, OH. Richard was a truck driver and loved playing music and could play any instrument.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Floyd (Scott) Frieszell, Rebecca (Nick) Girod, Richard E. Frieszell II, and Robert (Rani) Frieszell, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Frieszell, mother, Dorothy Marie (Kendall) Frieszell, son, Richard Frieszell, Jr., siblings, Jaqueline, Floyd, Susana, Bessie, William, Alice, and Dorothy Jean.

Burial will be at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
