Obituary

Saundra "Sandy" S. Hethcote, 84, of Warren, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on November 23, 1941, in Huntington, Indiana, to Robert K. Taylor and Claudine (Campbell) Taylor.

Sandy was a 1959 graduate of Warren High School. On February 6, 1965, she married Merrill L. Hethcote, and the two lived their married life in the Warren community. She dedicated over 40 years to serving the community as a bus driver for Huntington County, where she was admired for her dependability, her kind and talkative nature, and the way she cared for the children she transported.

Sandy had a warm and joyful spirit. She enjoyed golfing, riding around town on her golf cart, most often in the company of her dear friend Colleen Franklin, who preceded her in death recently, and she loved swimming in her younger years. She cherished simple pleasures, good company, and the community she called home. Sandy was a long time member of the Banquo Church, where she formed many special relationships over her lifetime.

She is survived by her brother, Robert K. Taylor of Converse, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill, and her beloved daughter, Jodi Lynn Hethcote, who passed away tragically in 1990.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sandy's honor to the Huntington County Humane Society or Banquo Church.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4–7 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, located at 203 N. Matilda Street in Warren on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11 a.m., with Harold Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
