Shirley Jean Duncan, age 78, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 9:48 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Wednesday, August 27, 1947, in Delight, AR.  She married Mark Robert Duncan on Monday, August 1, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV.  Shirley was a graduate of Petroleum High School. She worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton for over 40 years. Shirley was the first woman to become President for the Local IUE-CWA 84802 in Bluffton, where she had also served as secretary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading mysteries, taking trips to Gatlinburg, and spending time with her family. Shirley always loved the Christmas season.

She will be forever missed by her Husband - Mark Robert Duncan, Geneva, IN, Daughters - Beverly R. (Chad) Smith, Decatur, IN, Nicole L. (Trevor) Callahan, Decatur, IN, Haley N.  Lezama-Duncan, Grand Rapids, MI, Grandchildren - Cory Hodge, CO, Brandi Hodge, Decatur, IN, Gabrielle Smith, Decatur, IN, Great Grandson - Asher Hodge, Sister - Barbara Willen, Muncie, IN, and several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Oliver Nathan Hill, Mother - Lorene L. (Whitehorn) Hill, Daughter - Cynthia Hodge, Brother - Joe Hill, and Sister - Mary O'Banon.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N. Washington Street Geneva on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026 with Chaplain Denise Schwaberon officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
