Tommy M. Simmons Sr., 85, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 11:20 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at University Nursing Center in Upland, IN.  He was born on Friday, February 18, 1938, in Montpelier, IN.  He married Janet Fear Simmons on Saturday, November 19, 1960 in Blackford County, IN.  Tommy was a 1956 graduate of Montpelier High School.  He had worked at 3M Corporation in Hartford City for 40 years.  He attended the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Tommy enjoyed gardening woodworking, and he played several instruments.

He will be sadly missed by his Wife - Janet Elaine (Fear) Simmons, Montpelier, IN, Daughters - Tamara (David) Leas, Montpelier, IN, Teresa Lynn (Warren Casterline) Simmons, Montpelier, IN, Son - Tommy M. (Lisa) Simmons, Jr., Montpelier, IN, Bonus Daughter- Cristi Banter, Montpelier, IN, Grandchildren - Tommy M. Simmons III, Jerod (Kaitlyn) Reynolds, Mick (Katy) Leas, Angie (Kreig) Oswalt, Heather (Shane) Kinsey, Luke (Kim) Leas, and 12 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Father - Robert Francis Simmons, Mother - Jenny Myrtle (Williams) Simmons Terhune, Brother - Robert Francis Simmons, Sister - Phyllis Hogan, and Great Grandchild- Jenson A. Reynolds.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  A service to celebrate Tommy's life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 5:00 PM with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
