Virginia Lee "Virgie" (Leininger) Wendel, 92, of Berne, IN. formerly of Bryant, IN. passed away at 9:47 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Swiss Village Inc. in Berne, IN.  She was born on Monday, February 2, 1931, in New Corydon, IN.  She married Bobby W.  Wendel on Tuesday, November 28, 1950 at the New Corydon Lutheran Church.  Virgie was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School. She had worked for EP Graphics in Berne for 10 years and at Bindey Dept. Virgie was formerly in the Home Economics Club in Adams Co.

Pleasant, IN, David Dean (Carla) Wendel, Ft Recovery, OH, Dennis Eugene Wendel, New Corydon, IN, Grandchildren - Jill Jenkins, Coldwater, OH, Lisa Stewart, Coldwater, OH, Steven Wendel, Bryant, IN, Bradley Wendel, Bryant, IN, John Wendel, Bryant, IN, Craig Wendel, Covington, OH, Keith Wendel, Bryant, IN, Stephanie Jacobs, Anderson, IN, Justin Wendel, Celina, OH, Hannah Brackman, Maria Stein, OH, Hunter Wendel, Adrian, MI,  Holden Wendel, Bowling Green, OH, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband - Bobby W. Wendel, Father - John Leininger, Mother - Miriam (Fennig) Leininger, Sister -Helen Grimm, Brother - John W. Leininger, and Son-in law- Michael Laux.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N. Washington St. Geneva, IN. 46740 on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
