Obituary

William Leroy "Bill" Endsley, 77, of rural Van Buren, Indiana, (Washington Twp.) passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in rural Marion, Indiana, on November 13, 1947, to Leroy and Lucille (White) Endsley.

Bill graduated from Van Buren High School in 1965. On May 28, 1967, he married the love of his life, Patricia A. (Wampner) Endsley, and together they shared over 58 wonderful years of marriage.

He proudly served his country as a mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. After his military service, Bill worked for Runyon's Timesaver and Ressler Truck Service before retiring from Roadway Express after more than 30 years as a local haul driver.

Bill was a member of Mississinewa Chapter #94 Order of the Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge #711 in Van Buren, the Scottish Rite, and the Shrine. One of his greatest joys was driving children to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago, and he was also active with the Van Buren American Legion.

He was a faithful member of Central Christian Church in Van Buren. Bill loved attending tractor pulls, helping with the fish fries at the Conservation Club, and could always be counted on to join a good card game with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Endsley of Van Buren; three sons, Mark (Janice) Endsley of Texas City, Texas, David Endsley of Van Buren, Indiana, and Brian (Wendy) Endsley of Norman, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Jessica Endsley of Texas City, TX; Iain Endsley of Texas City, TX; Breana (Ashton) Endsley of Van Buren, IN; and Aleksandr Endsley of Van Buren, IN.

Also surviving are his three sisters: Janet (Cecil) Richardson of Sun City Center, FL; Donna Alexander of Marion, IN; and Diana Hamilton of Oak Hill, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Lucille Endsley; his in-laws, Willis and Donna Wampner; and his sister, Kathy Snyder.
